Grinding balloons tonight

RNG isn’t being nice. 2 more of the festive/winter DIYs to get, but I haven’t gotten any today. No recipes. Not even duplicates. Really want to snag them by tomorrow.

Well, the next balloon I got one of the ones I needed. Yay!

That leaves one more to get by tomorrow .

I know those feels. Particularly during the cherry blossom season which I full grinded for.
I didn't grind for the winter ones - I just traded for the majority of the recipes (except most the snowmen ones). Normally I like to grind the event/seasonal ones but...with it just being such a busy year, the last semester especially being so chaotic, and with prepping for my final semester...I couldn't bring myself to do it this season around. It was definitely a relief and I think trading saved me from getting badly burned out.
I hope this is the last of the balloon only limited time event/season recipe series. Hopefully for future events/recipe series they can come up with different ways (like turkey day) or at least include them in the bottles/villager crafting.

Congrats on being down to one! I hope you get it tomorrow if not tonight if you're still going. Hang in there!

I didn’t expect it to come down to a grind. I was doing pretty well getting recipes early on. But then I got busy IRL and didn’t happen to snag many in the time I was on. Will be searching for that last one tomorrow.

I've been super busy, so I'm missing like six still... and to be honest, grinding out these balloon DIYs has seriously burned me out. I've hit the point where I'm just gonna shoot down a balloon if I happen to see it. And if they add new seasonal DIYs and I like them, I'll willingly grind them out...

Otherwise, there's no 'bonus' for obtaining every DIY anyways... not worth the stress anymore, lol.

Have you been using the jail bar/ climbing wall trick? It makes it a lot easier to catch balloons.

im still missing quite a few diys and ive been getting balloons as i see them, yet usually its some useless item or bells

i wish you luck finding the last one!!! wish theyd change the rng

I commend your patience! I keep meaning to balloon grind but I simply don't have the energy to sit there and try to catch them all. I'll pop balloons as I see them but generally they're fairly useless. might be time for me to give in and just buy them all off here!

Does anyone have a link to the complete list of holiday DIYs? I have all the snowman ones. I wonder what I’m missing. Maybe it would make it worth the grind.

Congrats! I'm missing 2 or 3 of the festive and a lot of snowflake recipes. In the last 30 minutes I've only had 3 balloons and they all had furniture in them. I'll probably accept defeat soon and wait to get them next year.

I don't think it's possible to get duplicates of festive DIYs. I've looked for days and hours, and just can't find any. I make a new character, and start finding them almost instantly.

Yeah, I don’t think I got any duplicates. I did in the mushroom series.

I got one duplicate of the festive set the Illuminated raindeer and know of one or two others that had the festive tree twice

The snowboys won't give me any duplicates, but I've gotten duplicates of the Snowflake and Festive recipes from my balloons. I give them to my wife or to my son who aren't playing as obsessively as I am.

4 players got duplicate Festive and Snowflake DIY recipes. One night my main player (2nd Island) got 2 DIY festive candles in a row from balloons. She already learnt the Festive Candle recipe.
