Hello, please do not delete this thread as it is to correctly inform the community about the recent hacked DLC. These hacks have been made by a veteran hacker known as DsPet. He has hacked WW, and is the author of the popular Animal Map, in which he also worked extra hard to prevent destruction by not releasing dangerous items until very far into the release. Non-destructive hackers such as him just like going against the flow and experimenting with new things, they are not bad people.

I am here to explain the facts. The lightsabers and blue Pikmin hat were test items of this new hack. They do NOT brick Wii's and there have been absolutely NO reports of corrupt saves, so all of the rumors stirred up by idiots are false.

The plan is to provide quality user-made items to people around the world. The game disk has over 250 slots for DLC, and items like the top are a complete waste of something that could be amazing.

To prevent spammed trashy items, DsPet will release tools artists and modelers can use to create and test new items without the ability to spread them to other people and waste slots or cause any trouble. Then periodically, there will be a poll in which teams or lone people can submit their creations to be published and spread over wifi for people to enjoy. Anybody from anywhere will be able to come and vote for the next custom DLC.

Please keep in mind these friendly hacks are in no way meant to harm anyone, they are being made to make people AC experiences more fun without ruining them with things like infinity bell or any such hacks. If you still do not want to be a part of this, simply dont get the items, and throw them away if you get them. They are not harmful.

This project is very young, I will try my best to give any new information or news needed as they come. I ask you do not jeopardize this project with rumors and letters to Nintendo, as it took someone lots of time and work to bring something out for YOU to enjoy. It is very frustrating to do progress with this much negativity flying around. Thanks.

PS. I personally do not use hacks, as when I did in WW, it took away from my experience because I used things to complete everything there was to do in the game. While DLC is not one of those hacks, I am restraining myself, and will get them like other non-hackers do from other people.

I will try to answer any of your questions.

Umm, where can we go to submit new item ideas? *need Meta-Knight Mask*
Plans are still in progress, the item making tool is yet to be released, hopefully sometime soon. Right now ideas are not being taken, I will give an update when things get moving.

Wow. Thank you for addressing this to the rest of TBT Pyrate Yoster. I myself didn't know this information at all. I appreciate this article greatly. And if this topic gets closed down, then I suggest we just post it back up again.

Oh, cool. Thanks.

Erm, not to sound rude or burst anyone's bubbles, but this thread may be closed just for simply referring to the hacking background yet again.

My personal thoughts;

I personally don't mind people who hack and or cheat in games. Sometimes, when I finish a game myself, I go on the internet to search for small little tidbits to make the game a bit more exciting when I play it around for the second time. Like I said, I don't mind people sharing their secrets and such. However, I feel a bit more differently about this situation.

While you may and the developers themselves state that the released DLC Items (unauthorized by Nintendo) are perfectly safe for your game, the bottom line is it isn't authorized or released by Nintendo. If it isn't released by Nintendo, then there is still a slight risk of something happening to either your Wii or your Game Save. However, people may still wish to get these items disregarding the potential risks that could arise in the future.

So in my personal opinion, I wouldn't trust these things one bit. Even if the developers are harmless and such, you have to take precautions when going into these type of things. I do, however, feel that anyone and everyone is entitled to their own opinion and how they may wish to play the game. If you and or anyone else would like these types of items lingering on your Animal Crossing: City Folk game disc, Wii, or Game Save, feel free. There is no one that can stop you (other than Nintendo though, of course).

@Mickey, I hope they will not lock this. I have seen what Hosters like Zettaboards actually consider against their rules, such as cracking Wii points cards and dumping wii disks, and just talking about custom items in AC and not actually discussing the how to of the hacking part is not a bother at all.

Of course you may make your own decisions, thats respectable. Just dont spread false rumors of things like It surely will do something.

I have yet to find anyone actually confirm that it will disrupt your game except that whole Nook's Error thing that happened. However, spreading the fact that this is a potential risk should also be respected by members such as yourself.

While you may be correct about the various levels of maliciousness pertaining to hacking, the decision (before ZetaBoards intervenes) is left for storm.

Yes, but what I have been seeing is the bashing of this project with false rumors of certain doom. You can say there is a potential risk with everything, just make it clear and keep in mind nothing has happened for weeks with these things out.

THANK YOU SOOO MUCH! I was wondering about it...but you cleared it up for me and other people...im sure! so thanks

Good explanation :D (I bet someone else will make another topic stating this is a lie >.>)
