Had any mondegreens?

So what exactly is a mondegreen? It basically means that you have misunderstood or misinterpreted a word or phrase. It mostly occurs in lyrics of songs but I'm pretty sure it doesn't have to. Video games are no different.

Example:

Laid him on the green.

Mondegreen.

If you say it out loud, there is a similarity in pronunciation, right?


I don't know if you know Ness from Earthbound or smash bros., but go to 0:30 in the video. He is trying to say "PK Flash". If you listen to it closely, it doesn't sound like it.

Haha I thought that too, I thought he was saying "you just want to touch it" also. I didn't know what the song was called but I wanted to find out what the actual lyrics were so I Google throwing that turtle on my knee and it came up, apparently a lot of people misheard it!
I also thought Lady Gaga's applause was "thong" and I don't know the artist but the real lyrics are "you keep giving me such sweet nothings" or something like that and I heard "I'm living on a sexy planet, you're giving me sexy urges"

so many!!! i can't think of a lot off the top of my head but for the longest time i thought the lyrics to the dbz kai opening were "don't stop! don't stop! we're in love now" instead of "don't stop! don't stop! we're in luck now" and i thought the lyrics to banana man by tally hall were "floating back to city town" instead of "floating back to busy town"

ALSO..... these aren't misheard lyrics from me but if i remember right my friend heard "lettucing" instead of "let us sing" in good day also by tally hall

In Mario Party 1 and 2, the voice actor for Wario was Thomas Spindler. The one recorded line for his defeat is supposed to say a German line, but the change in his voice pitch lead many of us hearing "D'oh I missed!". You can thanks The Runaway Guys for that!
