Sales have just been revealed and Happy Home Designer has already sold a total of 522,556 copies. I remember reading their initial shipment was 500,000 copies so this is pretty good, and considering this is a spin off title. I'm pretty happy about this because from what I've seen of the gameplay, everything about happy home designer is exactly what I want in a spin off title.
From the sales it also looks like HHD doubled the amount of sales of New 3DS XL systems in Japan, too

That's amazing for a spin-off game! The amiibo card sales must be interesting.

And the fact that the New Nintendo 3DS XL has sold more than the New Nintendo 3DS in Japan has scared NoA from ever selling the smaller model, so it worries me that N3DS XL sales are being doubled =P

Not surprised at all! People love their Animal Crossing here. Also, they advertised really, really well for it and managed to generate a lot of interest, even with people who don't even own an actual console.

that's probably as many units as NL moved. Hopefully sales are just as good worldwide!!! That would surely show Nintendo that there's plenty of demand for more AC c~:

yayyy! Hopefully this inspires them to make another main series game and add some of the features from HHD into a new installment!

This might just sum it up--looks like it's even distracting some folks from the serious business of playing Pok?mon:

Japan is loving it.jpg

AND THIS is exactly WHY we should have had an Animal Crossing title for Wii U this year. It would just have made the Wii U sales explode in Japan and even Europe.

I'm not surprised at all. Spin off or not Animal Crossing is VERY popular around the world never mind their fanbase in Japan. People LOVE animal crossing!

I'm really happy to see anything Animal Crossing do well! It means more possible Animal Crossing things! I'm curious to see how well it will do in North America.

Good news, I wonder how many Animal Crossing New Leaf copies were sold in the first week?

I'll probably be getting the game raw instead of waiting for the English version.
After all I'm not surprised, Animal crossing is popular in Japan.

That's amazing! I'm really happy for Nintendo since they weren't doing too well with sales for a while back. Now with the happy home designer game and all the amiibos and the new amiibo cards Nintendo is doing much better. I can't wait to see what new games that they are going to release in the future. I hope they make a new animal crossing game for the wii u.
