Harder to obtain villager pictures?

I always try to get a villagers photo, it's a way to keep the game interesting for me. Usually I can obtain a villagers photo within the first few weeks of them living on my island. But now I feel it's harder, I've had Drake since November and I gifted him clothes in his style, along with talk to him everyday and such but he still gifts me random stuff and it's not just him but many others as well, does anyone else have this issue?

I’ve gotten all of my villager pictures easily. I just wrap a gift over 10,000 bells and gift it to them for a week straight. Seeing how we can change their interiors now, this shouldn’t be an issue to anyone. I always receive their pictures within ten days of doing this. This is just a method I’ve found that works for me.

After the 2.4 update you need to talk to the villager you last got their photo from on 10 different days before the game will let you get a different photo from a different villager.

As someone who has gotten villager photos the best thing to do is to give them wrapped gifts that contains non native fruit. You can also give them furniture that they will always like for example an Antique Chair is something that they will always like no matter the personality.

Giving them gifts on their birthday will give you a boost in friendship and lastly you can talk to Katrina to give you a Friendship Boost to the villager who you want their photo. However, when Katrina mentions that you're getting along really well with the villager the Friendship Boost is no longer needed meaning to say that you're at a really high friendship with them and you have a higher chance of getting their photo. Its RNG which is annoying but I hope this helps you better understand how to get their villagers easily.

I still have not gotten a villager photo on ACNH yet. I would love to get Velma's photo before I move her out (she is a villager I really like, but not quite enough to make my dreamie list). I did celebrate her birthday on January 14th, gave her a few of the recommended gifts, and I have a pretty high friendship with her, given that she has make unannounced visits.

I have read some tips on the best gifts to give. Hopefully I can get it soon. ^^

Like I said the way villagers give you gifts is RNG but once you get to a higher friendship you'll have a higher a chance of getting their Photo.

I've managed to get 4 x Al , 3 x Buck, 3 x Roscoe, 2 x Boomer and 1 x Lionel. No matter what I give Vic, he does not part with a photo! He's been there nearly from the beginning, and he's still in his original house. I've tried the fruit stack, sending him gifts in the mail, keeping my pockets full, I've even tried pearls and gold nuggets! I think that cranky bull must secretly dislike me.

Yeah that's what Nookipedia said, at first it worked for me that I needed to keep talking to the last villager that gave me their photo for a couple days before I got a new one but now I find that doesn't always matter and I still keep getting new photos even if I ignore the last villager I got a photo from lol

When I think about it makes sense since it sometimes takes longer to get a photo from some. I think it’s just really random. Since I don’t always talk to all my villagers every day. Some people were trying to figure out a pattern to it but I don’t think there is one.

I've been trying to get Sasha's photo for a month now and I've been very consistent with gifts. But he still haven't given his photo to me. Meanwhile, Azalea already gave hers when she's been around for less than a month.

I believe the correct wording from the reference given is this:

The player must now talk to a villager on 10 different days after obtaining their photo for the game to determine if the player can receive another photo from that villager.

This means, if I get a villager A's photo on the 1st. I must talk to villager A everyday from 1st to 10th before villager A gives me another photo on the 11th at the earliest.

It does not mention anything about a different villager. The new update is about getting a photo from the SAME villager.

So can you then get different villagers' photos without waiting 10 days? YES.

As for whether I've tested this? Yes, because I managed to get 3 villagers' photos on the same day.

ive been working on molly for at least a week now. shes not coughing up her photo yet LOL

Like some people said already it's luck based. No one can be certain of course but I like to collect villager photos and have been doing it since the game release as I let villager move in and out. From my experience with the game in average I had villager give me their picture after a month some take longer than that while other take less time. I had the rare case of a villager giving me their picture after two weeks of me starting to gift them items. All those villagers I talked to everyday and gift them items everyday. I even had a villager gift me three photos in different occasions while another I was missing the photo from never did during that period (but eventually got his photo later).
Yeah it's hard to obtain their photos and if the luck gods aren't on your side is even harder but from all villager I had even if they take 5 months they eventually give the pictures if you have a high friendship with them and talk to them daily even if just once. If you can't do it daily do it as frequently as you can so you have more opportunities to get their picture.
