Has anybody heard when a possible re-release of Amiibo cards would be?

Alright, so from what I've read, the Switch game will have amiibo capabilities, so I'm also hoping for a re-release of all five series cards to pad out the game.
(I'm also hoping for a series 6 so all the villagers, past and present, would be available.)
The only place left for getting ac cards now are nintendoshop and lucrative resale sites.

Didn't hear any news about it. From what I heard when the amiibo cards were newly released, not many people bought them so stores just let them collect dust until all of them were sold. After that, there hasn't been a restock since (Best Buy used to have them and so did Toys R Us but they don't have the cards anymore) so it seems unlikely that Nintendo would re-release those cards again because of slow sales. We still know very little about AC switch so I don't know how much of an influence that is going to make on the amiibo cards.

They may rerelease them if AC Switch makes use of the cards but right now there is nothing that points at it.

There will be new villagers for this game. And if they do that, they’ll create a new amiibo card series and release the old cards again with the compatibility of ac Switch on the package.

If they re-release the amiibo cards, I hope they can continue, starting with Series 5 so I don’t have to re-buy every amiibo card I got. I already completed the first four series of amiibo cards (which is a total of 400 villagers).

I think the first series sold well as it was difficult for me to complete that set with constant out of stock and trading online.

They were trying to be Pokemon TGC and I think it would have been better if there wasn't five series spread apart different release dates. Also they released with Happy Home Designer/Amiibo Festival, which weren't really spectacular games.

They'll probably have a re-release when we get near the games release but I don't think it's going to last very long.
