Has anyone heard of the game Spectrobes? It's a game on the DS and its basically a sci-fi Fossil Fighters, where you dig up these extinct species and bring them back to life, train them, evolve them, and fight with them. There were some sequels on the DS and wii, and from what I remember, they were pretty solid(or who knows maybe im just nostalgia blind). It was actually kind of fun and I have never heard of anyone talk about this series before.
Anyways, I have some nostalgia for this series and I'm really curious if any of you out there have heard of this game as well.
I played through Spectrobes, but I cheated for ages. My first day, I borrowed my friend's action replay so I could just hack my way through everything. Max level pokefakes, color swaps, and the ?ber match enders from the beginning- I regret doing it because there was no challenge, but the instant gratification was such a pleasure.

I think no one talks about it because not many people really played it. Pok?mon similes don't really make much of a ripple in the market when the big Pokemon is still the big duck in the pond
No I'm afraid not. But from the looks of what you've said, it's really patterned to Pokemon (except the fossil part hunting thing) and most people like me prefer to have Pokemon franchise itself over "copies". It's funny how Pokemons' great impact to everyone who has played the first versions Y/R/B/G and became instantly addicted with it. And up to know, even I, admit that I still bought Pokemon franchises from the game itself to plushies and stuff.
Oh I do remember this game! I have to say, the story is amazing. But the battles were a bit challenging if you did not have a strategy or levelled up. And finding new fossils was as exciting as the new one which is called Fossil Fighters, I believe. Spectrobes and Fossil Fighters are the two games that concentrates on digging fossil, training them, and battling. However, These two had a difference. Spectrobe you save the world from doom while digging for new monsters along the way. It did get very grindy at a point though. Fossil Fighter is more like pok?mon related, but having to dig your way for fossils.
But going back to the topic, if you find a copy of Spectrobe, enjoy action/advetnrue/rpg games and decide to give a few old games a try, I can pretty much recommend Spectrobes. The story is nice. Maybe not the best story, but it is awesome!
My dude I thought I was the only person who enjoyed this game. Picked it up for like $4 when I was 12 and loved it. Need to find my copy, it's around my house somewhere
