A few days ago I started using it to join the splatoon comunity, so I can ask questions about the game.Just picked the game up and having a blast with it, even-though i missed out on the last splatfest.
Very helpful community on answering my questions, but man I feel like the app is for a younger demographic, other communities have the same vibe especially the animal crossing one.
Which is very odd considering on this fourm everyone seems way more mature and humble.
I've been using Amino for about four years. It's definitely geared more towards pre-teens in my opinion, but you'll be able to find people of any age in the different communities. You just have to search for the right pocket of people, which is sometimes hard. I love Amino because you can basically use it to talk about anything you want. You can create your own communities, so if you're a fan of something especially niche it makes finding other fans a little bit easier.
i mostly use it for its studying amino, since the tips on there have helped me a ton. as for the fandom aminos, the communities are very nice. i found some friends on there so i don't have much bad things to say about it.
I joined the anime amino a few years back and had some really bad experiences. I was mainly looking for someone to do literate naruto roleplay and got some suuuuper creepy messages that were not related to the fandom at all. There were also a lot of people spamming inappropriate images on those public group chats. I don't know if it got any better but yeah I personally did not enjoy it back then and deleted it.
I recently got it again to check out their animal crossing amino and I haven't experienced anything bad yet, so it probably depends on which amino you're on. I do feel like the animal crossing amino has more younger users too.
i really like amino and use it often but i don't think i really fit in cuz like you guys have said it's definitely geared toward kids in their early-mid teens (which is around how old i was when i started using it)! i started on anime amino and eventually drifted off from it and now i mostly just use the animal crossing and splatoon communities. sumtimes i browse the app trying to find communities for other stuff i like but they're usually dead/really REALLY not my crowd. i would really like to find/make a community that i """vibe""" with more on there but i don't think it's possible v_v
i have the same trouble finding communities i connect with in general tho... HMM......
At some point I was already about to sign up on Amino, but didn't do so since it requires downloading an app. No sir my phone doesn't have that kind of space. I don't think I'm missing out on much though.
