If you don't understand what I mean, here's an example.

For example, if I had Sly and I visited another town and they had Sly, what would happen? Would the game implode on itself?

i'm not sure if it's different with new leaf - but in wild world - my sister, my brother and i all had buck and he was a different villager to all of us! uvu (although i wish the game imploded because buck defs isn't one of my faves, hahaha!)

Nothing will happen o3o I do it all the time. Your villagers are randomly generated, odds are you and a ton of other people have the same villagers.

Nothing will happen. Your friend's Sly will act like any other villager would towards you in that town.

My Japanese town has Mac and my NA town has Mac. The Japanese Mac doesn't treat my NA character any differently when she visits.

If I remember correctly, in the gamecube version I may have had two different versions of Bob in the same town. Part of me is saying it may have been at the same time even. I had several different save files on different cards. I know I had two different Bobs, but one may have moved before the other one came.
