Lookin good, man. Haven't played Heavy Rain myself, so I can't compare it, but it works great standalone too!

It was good, people on Kotaku are probably picking up on stupid things because it's not exactly like the game. And good luck with the school.

I'm feeling abit gloomy right now.
It's now 6:20am for me.

It seems you've been getting a lot of hate. From what I can tell, I don't see why. Good luck with the whole film school thing.

Hi David. I think you did a pretty good job here. Here are my criticisms:

Remember to light the eyes. A little life in the eyes makes things much more cinematic and it's quite easy to do--just take a big white cue and reflect off of your key. Organic shapes work best.

When you're trying to create empathy for a character, you need to do more in showing us why. To the audience, his son is just a picture on a screen and a quick shot of him saying "Dad,". What's needed is more of the flashback stuff, (eg maybe his son and him at a park, playing) less of the back and forth from the screen to his face. I think you could have squeezed more out of the 2 minutes you were given in this regard to creare a more real sense of empathy.

Remember not to cut off the chin in your close ups. If you are going to cut the chin off, move in closer and make it an extreme close up.

Good job.
