Hi.

My name is Tasha. I just recently started playing Animal Crossing for the first time. 3 days ago, to be exact. I am very heavily addicted already and I am not even 100% sure of what to expect from the game.

My town is named "Spira" and I am just regular ol' "Mayor Tasha."

Funny story:
When I created my first save, I didn't know that the questions Rover asked you determined what your character's face looked like. After I went online and read that, I immediately reset my game so that I could get a face that I found more suitable. After perusing around the internet a little more, I found some information that I wish I would have known before, such as: the ability to continue resetting for a better map, techniques for making sure your new villagers move in where you want them, and what the top villagers were in order of popularity. And... well... I am kinda bummed about my decision to reset for my eyes and map because my FIRST save had both Lucky & Merengue.... I had no idea who they were. *sigh* I could have at least given them good homes if I decided that they weren't on the top of my personal favorites list... but.... yeah.
TLDR: I accidentally rid my very first village of Lucky and Merengue.

REGARDLESS, I can't say that I'm entirely full of regret because I LOVE my new town map and am more pleased with my character's face. And I lucked out with the placement of houses & buildings (in my opinion.) Now to implement that technique to get my villagers to move where I want them to. Setting up is time consuming! But I'm sure it's all worth it in the end.

Do you guys have any interesting "starting out" stories? I'd love to hear them!

Hello Tasha and welcome to TBT! I'm glad to hear, that your new town was worth it after all. Don't worry about the villagers lost, I did the same thing once, and regretter it to - but hey, it's more important to be happy with your game!

I started playing ac sooo long ago, that I almost cannot remember how I started out. The only thing I remember is, that I didn't know about the face-thing too, and ended up hating my face for almost a year! I also remember, that one of my starting villagers was stitches.. And I absolutely hated him! He was the only one who never moved though... Guess I was cursed then xD

But anyways! I hope you'll have a great time here.

Ugh, I was exactly the same when I first got New Leaf. I was super excited and just wanted to get on with the game, so I ended up choosing a horrid map for landscaping; a boring/common town name, and I also voided Julian instead of giving him away to someone. Yep, I made a lot of newbie mistakes, but I think most people did out of excitement for the game.

Good to hear you're enjoying playing New Leaf! I started by playing Wild World because my friend had it, and we'd always visit each other's towns and trade fruit so we could get loads of money! I was pretty bad at the game though... I also played Let's Go To The City on the Wii with my family - I, my two sisters and my mum each had a character and we played almost every day for about two years. It was such good fun! Now I'm really enjoying New Leaf, and I have to copies (but only one 3DS) and I've reset countless times. However, now I think I'm truly happy with my Mayor's face, town name, and layout - so I can properly start to landscape and complete the town how I'd like it!

Anyway, I rambled on a bit there, but if you ever want to WiFi with someone, or just talk, I'd be happy to!

Welcome to TBT Tasha! You remind me so much of when I first started playing AC. I started on WW because my friend had it, and I reset it so many times to get a nice map, face and native fruit. (I wanted anything but pears UGH, but now pears are my native fruit for CF and my NL -.-")
