I think getting involved will help you stay active! When I used to participate on the forums only, I found myself spending not that much time here. This was mainly because I didn't know anyone and posting alone got lonely too quickly. Once I started joining the IRC, I found myself coming back and staying longer. Then I joined Mumble and I became attached.
