Hello from Mississippi

Howdie,
I am Shane and I love AC. I have played every version including the very first one. I recall when Nintendo release a AC exclusive Memory Card for the GameCube version of AC and I knew then that this game was going to be special and Nintendo was going to take care of the franchise with some TLC. That was around 2000/01 or so and my daughter Caroline was 3 and just starting to talk. She loved to sit in my lap and play 'Animal Cross' with the sweetest voice, she loved the villagers and being able to interact with them. We shared the one villager that we played and I would let her make decisions and she loved that. I downloaded ACNH on the first day and I have played it everyday since, except during the surgeries I have had. My island is never complete, I am never satisfied, but that makes it fun. I don't get to play any multiplayer often as my friends are not into it, so it is hit and miss with me.

I love hearing when people have played every AC game (because I was so late to the series)! Does Caroline still play or has she moved on from AC?

My island never feels complete either! Is there anything you're especially looking forward to in the update? 🏝

Yes, Caroline still plays, but is in PT School and doesn't have much time right now as she is doing her clinical part. I am looking forward to the permanent shops and designing them, the coffee shop, and new merch. I wish that they would figure a way to allow players to acquire All of the recipes. I go to my villagers everyday, the beach, and a mystery island beach and I am lucky if I get a new recipe once a month and if I do its the seasonal stuff. I know that it kinda depends on your villagers. I have Raymind, Lily, Marshall, Lucky, Bob, Marinia, Ruby, Ankha, Maple, and I am presently looking for my 10th. I have gone thru the Hello Kitty pack and received all the photos and evicted them. I like my residents and don't like to get new ones often. I do rotate a villager until I acquire their photo and once I have that I boot them.

Caroline must be busy, but it sounds like a very exciting time for her!

It's definitely hard to get all of the recipes! I'm still working on getting all of the art for my museum, so I'm hoping to work on getting Redd on Harv's Island as a first priority with the update. However, if you have a Nintendo Online subscription, TBT has a really active trading community where you'd find basically any recipe.

Hello, and welcome to the forums. I really hope you enjoy it here! I got into Animal Crossing at a young age as well. I grew up with the Gamecube version and played Wild World during elementary school.

it’s so sweet that you and your daughter used to play animal crossing together! that sounds like such a lovely bonding experience. i’m also sorry to hear about your surgeries, but i hope you’re doing well and enjoying new horizons! i’m never satisfied with my island, either, but i definitely agree that that’s part of the fun aha.
