Hello, I'm Em (or Wishy)! New Leaf is my first Animal Crossing game, and this is the first Animal Crossing forum I've joined. I got my game in October and have been hopelessly obsessed with it since.
 Because this is my first Animal Crossing experience, I've been going through everything blind and am looking for some advice/help. Here are a few questions I have:

1. What is Cycling/Who are Cyclers?

2. How do you trade villagers?

3. What are the Pros/Cons of Time Traveling?

4. Is it worth it to reset my game? (I've been contemplating this for a while, but I've become attached to my town!)

5. Should I get a second cartridge? (I am going on 2 big trips this year and am currently saving for them, but I really want a second town. Is shelling out the $30 worth it for a second town?)

Thank you!~

WELCOME TO DA HOOD
Question time:
1. Cycling is basically cycling out villagers, so you TT a certain amount of time to get a villager out, then auction, sell, or give the villager away.
2. You trade villagers by going to someone else's town while a villager is in boxes. You then talk to the villager, and ask for them to move into your town.
3. Pros- allows you to do things quickly, including buying items, experiencing events, plot resetting, campsite resetting, etc.
Cons- you could lose villagers or hybrids(only if you don't have the Beautiful Town ordinance.)
4. Depends. If you like your villagers, map, and mayor, then you shouldn't.
5. Another depends question. If you plan on using it for cycling, then you should, as it will allow you to get bells quickly. I know people have second towns as main towns(Shirohibiki, Gizmodo) and then a third town for cycling/hybreeding, but I have two copies, one main town and one cycling, and I find it a bit hard to keep it up with both.

Welcome to TBT!
I'm not a PRO ac player.. this is just my knowledge xD
1. Cycling is when you time travel or keep getting villagers to move out, some people reference this as "Cycle 16" Which means you have to get rid and get new villagers 16 times to get back a past villager they lost. Cyclers are people that purposely try to get their villagers to leave.
2. Only trade villagers with trustworthy people, if you want to trade. Decide who goes first. One person will come to the other person's town, and talk to the villager that is in boxes. Next, it's vice versa.
3. There aren't really "set" pros/cons, it's preference really. Other than it might get boring, you will also gain lots of weeds (if you don't have beautiful ordinance) and you could risk losing villagers by TTing (they can suddenly move out)
4. Reset if you want to, you can always have a trustworthy person to hold your stuff. Maybe take screenshots for memories. But reset if you want to yourself, no one can tell you not to or to stay. Do whatever you like! :)
5. The second town isn't really worth it. It's hard to maintain both towns (unless you can devote a few hours each day) and you won't really need to cycle since lots of people already are. But again, no one can tell you not to. Do what you like! I'd say save your money! :)

Welcome to TBT! >w< It seems that you've already got all the answers you need so I won't bother reposting repeats.

Thank you!!

I have a follow up question, if you don't mind. How do you cycle? I've had 4 villagers I really don't like for a while and can't get them to move! If there's a better way to get rid of them instead of cycling please tell me.

Welcome to TBT! There's a nice/fast cycling guide here.

Edit: It's only if you have a devoted cycling town whoops.

I dont know if this really means anything from a 50/100% New memeber due to losing my other account but..

Welcome to the forums :D

1.Cycling is when you Time Travel(TT) to get ceartain characters i guess, there are many cycling threads in the [Villager Trading Plaza] httpbelltreeforums.com/forumdisplay.php?85-Villager-Trading-Plaza[/spoiler] Anyways,Second Answer:

2:To trade villagers,i guess you would go to their town, tlak to the villager thats moving out then thta person comes to your town and talks to THAT one that is moving out,but usually people jjust cycle for free and let people have their dreamies and stuff

3:pro's:Good for cycling IF you have a different game disk for just cycling
Con's You lose villlagers very very fast i guess, i dont recommend doing it on your normal town.I have, it did not end well...

4:Only if you don't like alot about your town!

5:Depends if you just want to cycle all day, or play normally all day, OR half and half

Glad if this helped and once again:~Welcome :]
