I signed up yesterday but got preoccupied with other things and nearly forgot to post. I'll need to watch myself. I have all intentions of becoming a regular poster and look forward to corresponding with all of you. Officer Berri introduced me to the forums as she was registering yesterday and I couldn't pass up the opportunity to join a forum centered around one of my favorite games. She's one of those girlfriends that always looks out for you. Isn't she lovely? I promise not to gush.
I first encountered an entry for Animal Crossing in Nintendo Power shortly before its release. It didn't click with me until the first few weeks it was out. I remember finishing Bomberman Generation on the GCN and turned on the TV to rest my eyes--this makes sense to a ten year old (I'll be 20 in April)--and seeing the commercials. I knew what I had to do.
Beg my parents.
I made time for the game every day, playing faithfully for years. Fast forward to now. I've played all of the current games. My favorite villager is Freya and my favorite special character is Lyle. If you're wondering who Agent Kite is, wonder no more. How does the HRA manage to get into your house without you knowing? Stealth. Kite is a black HRA agent that slips in while you're away and gathers data for poor 'ol Lyle stuck in his new office. He's another special character in mine and Officer Berri's fictional AC community.
I stopped playing the games about two years ago when muscular dystrophy finally made me incapable of wielding a Wii-mote. With Jump Out approaching my spark has rekindled and Officer Berri helps me enjoy the games again. So it's all good.
My hobby is writing and editing. I certainly don't mind looking at pieces of writing and giving revision suggestions. I do for my friends anyway. I do more editing these days because my handicap accessible software likes to ignore my voice. I love literature: Emily Dickinson, Poe, Roald Dahl, Robert Frost, Thomas Hardy, Anne McCaffrey and Ray Bradbury are among my favorite writers and poets. I also enjoy good satire now and then.
I have other interests too, particularly art appreciation, history, politics, music and of course, games. Musically my tastes lie in Ben Folds, ska, pop-punk, crooners, and the Descendents to name a few things from my personal collection but I'll listen to anything from jazz to Matchbox 20, my favorite band.
I enjoy adventure games, platform games and RPGs primarily, but I branch out when I can. If I had to name a few favorite series I'd go with Tomb Raider, Ratchet and Clank, Metroid, Viewtiful Joe, Sonic, Megaman, and more recently DragonAge.
I'm a sucker for horror anthology. I have complete sets of Tales from the Crypt seasons lying around somewhere.
I can be longwinded.
I look forward to talking with you all and do my best to contribute positively to the forum!
