You get bells for posting (based on the length of the post), rating threads, voting in polls (I think) and if people give you bells. You can also use [charge=amount of money up to 100]Message[/charge] if you have some information or something interesting that you think people should pay for. You can also start a shop where you sell stuff for bells. When you have gotten some bells you can use them in the shop to buy stuff for your profile, there is some bugs so I would suggest to maybe wait until the new Shop Managers are announced and the new shop is out.

The next thing is, is this forum mainly based on Animal Crossing, or is it kind of random? I know there's a lot of Animal Crossing things here, but there are also other topics on here that have nothing to do with AC.
And I seem to notice this forum is sort of deserted, there's hardly any posts in an hour that I've noticed.

Well it's basically a gaming forum, but it's also an Animal Crossing forum. Also people here live in different timezones so not everybody is online at the same time, we also have kinda few members, but I'm pretty sure it will get better when AC 3DS is released.
Hopefully so.
The forum I'm on is the OMGPOP Forum, I wonder why the layout of both of these Forums (this one and the OMGPOP one) look so alike...

Yes, I do, just not as much. I may get back onto City Folk, but Wild World is ehh now. The more I look at it, the more the game quality looks terrible. x_x
Welcome! Like fillfall said, it's not just an AC forum, very video game based. I myself mainly lurk in the basement and in brewster's cafe. But more ACers will show up when AC3DS comes out. I know I'll be playing that game like mad.
