I wouldn't say I was a lurker, but I made an account on these forums over a year ago and never figured out how things worked (lol). Reset my island after putting in 400+ hours, only to stop playing for a year and finally coming back for this update. Hope to learn how these forums work as a place to trade and catalogue and keep up with my classes at the same time. Overall really excited to experience this huge update with others!

Welcome to TBT, pocariS! I also recently came back for the update after leaving the game for a year. I thought it would be difficult to get familiarized with the forum again, but it has been and still is an amazing platform for trading, cataloging, and meeting new friends. Are you still in the early stages of your new island? What are you most looking forward to in the update?🏝
I've been doing some mad-dashing, turnip farming, just-unlocked-terraforming madness so far lol. Moved some houses to start terraforming and hope I don't suddenly change my mind halfway through; did it last time and ended up flattening my old island. Gotta decide whether villagers get yards, or if it's like a street, where to put a farm/orchard and an entrance. Gets kinda overwhelming in the planning LOL
It is definitely overwhelming! I decided to renovate my island before the update (there's some areas I love, and some that clearly need work), and so I started terraforming without a plan, and it... has not worked out perfectly (particularly, I forgot to account for the new farming crops).
I think I'm gonna try splitting my map into "sections" and having a list of things that I want to have room for on my map as well. Was busy earlier but I think I'll check out the threads in this forum for people who have reset and their island maps (dream addresses are also a large help now that I realize). I think my hardest thing will be deciding on what cliff levels things will be before I move stuff on or next to them.It is definitely overwhelming!
