Okay let's just made this the thread for when someone needs help with something!

Selecting your Gender is as easy as it was in acww. The first option suggests that you are male while the middle option suggests female. The last option logically suggests you made a mistake and "that is not my name"

As always they ask for your name before asking where you are heading...

Always select the first option as the bottom options usually means "Never Mind"

Edit

Upon arriving in the town, meet the secretary at town hall. Immediately following this, go to tom nook and set up your house.

Then talk to secretary (plant the big tree)

Then introduce yourself to everyone

Sorry to hijack the topic but is anyone able to help me? I'm not sure if I have to do anything specific yet buuut:

I'm living in the tent, Shizu came to visit, and then I went to Tom Nook - who told me the mortgage is 10,000 bells (I'm guessing)... I can't get behind the desk yet at the town hall and obviously nothing has opened up yet. Do I just need to pay off the 10k and then I can start? And when can I wifi?

Shizu has some jobs for you to complete. Talk to her at the counter.

As for wifi, I am able to visit the towns of those registered in my ds, but cannot go to the dreamworld thing. I don't know when that will open up.

When you first load your game, press A+B+X+Y simultaneously, the system should asked if you want to delete your save data, pick the first one if i'm not mistaken. =)

In terms of missions, i'm only this far, will add more as i find out:-

i) Get 100 mayor/popularity points (help your villagers, change your flags, send letters, etc etc)
ii) Pay 10,000 bells to Tom Nook to build your house

Yes he came to my dock but it was late last night as I was going to bed so I haven't gotten to visit the island yet!!
I went wit Mint to her island yesterday though ^^ caught some fish and bugs.

That's fine You wouldn't have been able to go while Tortimer was there anyway XD but Kappn will definitely be there the next day you play I took my first visit to my island today! ^^

And thanks Yuuki for the advice! You can also delete your town from when you boot up the game, select your character, and then move to the load screen with Shizu. There's an option to delete town data there too.
