Okay, so I've gotten pretty good at making decent siggies and banners now.
Actually I just feather everything
Time for me to learn animation!
Obviously it takes some work, as whenever I try to open up a .gif file in my program, I get this:

So... how would I go about making signatures animated? Or rather, keeping them animated?
I will die if this turns out to be so simple

you can do gif aniamtion in gimp, which is an older, free program!

Yeah, I guess I could try gimp. Do you know where I can find a simple download?
This one gave me a torrent and I've never in my life known wth I'm supposed to do with torrents

imade you a crappy tutorial, sorry i cant write ; v;;

{ click here to see the tutorial! }

That could work too, but would be a pain for some of those longer animations.
Thanks for the help!

okay, i found a really simple way. Just use "online image editor" http://www.online-image-editor.com/
then after you put in the gif background, just click on the tabs above, click on the one called "wizard" and add clipart,
add the pictures you want [ villagers, icons, etc. ], then doneee

This was really helpful, but unfortunately I still can't use it. When I add the sprites they still have the white background which I can't get rid of.

I have figured out that the reason the image doesn't stay transparent is because the image gets merged when saving though.
