Help please!! Everything I need to know about New Horizons?

So went crazy tonight and have a Switch Lite turquoise and AC - NH arriving by approx wednesday - SO excited!! Okay so please tell me everything to know about the game so far?! About to stalk all the forum posts... haha cheers

Well, New Horizons start is a bit slower than others in the series. Its very 'progression' based, and you won't have a lot of stuff open to you for the first two or so days.

On your first day, you definitely want to help out Tom Nook as much as possible as in doing so, you unlock a lot of DIY recipes for tools and various furniture as well as unlock Blather's tent for the following day. You'll also want to pay off your first home debt the first day as well.

Afterwards, you just want to follow the dialogue from Tom Nook when a new thing is prompt by him by walking into Resident Services or from the Public Announcements he does when you start up the game.

You'll want to gather a lot of material as well (branches, stone, clay, wood, iron nuggets) daily as well... because you'll use them a lot.
