hello!
lately (well for a long while now. probably 10months) i've been noticing how out of proportion my art is, like one leg would be fatter then the other, one side of the head would have more hair, one shoulder would be more narrow than the other one and it really irks me.
Also i have this thing were i always draw on a slant to the left, and i always have to rotate my work abit to make it look straight.
Whenever i flip the canvas horizontally everything turns into a mess and i cringe everytime.

im wondering if there is anything to help me fix these problems. I've tried tilting my tablet to the right to sort of balance it out, i've tried grid lines, everything really.

the below is just some random doodles i did like 2mins ago to show how weird it is.. (this example isn't the most cringey, but there are other finished commission pieces that are really wonky ;;;;=;; plus they are embarassing to look at )

i use paint tool sai btw o:

if your sketch looks out of proportion, i'd select that body part and transform it until it looks normal. then just start sketching over it.
so i'd use the select tool, and ctrl + t and change from there.
also, you can always select the other part of the body and copy and paste it so it's the same size~
you can flip the canvas around to make sure ur body is positioned correctly and doesn't look wonky

the first sketch isn't always perfect <3

I have so much trouble with proportions as well. You can try to flip your drawing back and forth to (invert) tell. Or select the area and "free form" It. I usually draw over my sketches multiple times =.=

(Yours seem pretty fine though!)

when you draw do you invert the canvas to check if everythings going alright or nah? i dont but i should -v-

Flip/invert your sketch - don't stay /too/ committed to your initial sketch and start colouring.

your examples seem mostly fine, though?
