So, I got home early and joined the quarantine party. Hopped on ACNH AND discovered I can’t talk to my Islanders? I can talk to the camper, Hazel and the nooks but not my Islanders!!

I’ve left the game, shut down my switch and logged back in and still can’t talk to them.

has anyone else experienced this?

I wish I could attach a small video clip. So it’s starts as if I’m going to talk to them, but then just doesn’t do anything. What I mean is it zooms in and then blinks and goes back to normal view.

That is weird , I haven’t heard anything like that before. How’s this possible? Hope someone will help you with your problem and you able to talk with your lovely villagers again.

Hold the screenshot button for 1-2 seconds to record a 30 second clip. Then you should be able to share it with us

Maybe you have corrupted data

How would that be possible? I don’t have anything that’s not from the game. The only custom things are ones I made on my nook phone

I’m going to see if an off island jaunt helps. Fingers crossed

Unless you're using a physical copy, the entire game was downloaded.

Aside from that, every patch and update past v1.0.0 had to be downloaded.

maybe my old brain is having trouble grasping what you’re saying. I got the switch and game for Christmas and I’ve had no problem until I got home today. It was working fine before this. So there’s been Nothing new

Since the villagers just became broken out of the blue, it's evident something might be wrong. It's worth a try to check for corrupt data. If it's not corrupt data, that rules it out. A couple users here have experienced strange bugs, and it was ending up being due to corrupted data.
