So my switch broke months ago and I finally got a new one - I had to start a new island so if anyone has some stuff they want to dump out I’d appreciate it

I believe there is a way to back up and transfer! Not sure if you could still do it, but someone here might be able to tell you how! So sorry for the loss of your island q.q I'd be heart broken

Villages are linked to the Switch even with the back up. If a Switch breaks and is unrecoverable, I don't think the game can be restored unfortunately. Edit: Correction, you can probably get your data back but you'd have to contact Nintendo directly and that's probably an entire process in itself.
