Well, here I am. The name’s Dudy Dude. I couldn’t think of a name for my character, half an hour later I just typed in the first thing I could think of and that’s how Dudy Dude came to be. I wouldn’t want it any other way.

New Horizons was my introduction to the Animal Crossing series, despite having heard about since about 2008.

I certainly am glad I picked it up... better late than never I suppose.

In the real world, my life isn’t the greatest. I don’t have a lot to look forward to. I try to maintain a happy disposition, but I’m not successful. However, New Horizons has brought some happiness to my otherwise unenjoyable life. I have a soft spot for cute animals, maybe since I grew up playing with them because I didn’t have any human friends.

I think I’ve seen this forum a few times in the past while reading threads about game mechanics to learn things, but I never really looked at the forum in depth until today. The people here seem really nice, and I could use that kind of scenery. I hope to make some lasting connections here.

Welcome to TBT! I’m sorry that things are tough... :/

You will definitely find a ton of people here that are very friendly, however! :)

Hello and welcome! It's very exciting to have a new member, I hope that you find that the forums is an enjoyable place to be. Sorry to hear about your struggles, animal crossing is indeed a great source of escapism (for me anyway) and a great game.

Looking forward to seeing you around the forums!

Welcome 👋. New Horizons was my first introduction to Animal Crossing aswell and this is my first forum aswell so you are not alone 😁

Hi I'm sorry to hear that things are tough for you at the moment. I can relate to that, I've not left my flat since Jan 2020 because of various health issues and very limited mobility, I also struggle with the arthritis in my hands, I used to always be out and about taking photos and uploading them to various sites however I have one small window to look out of now and mainly live alone unless my daughter comes to stay and help me out. At the moment I'm playing Pocket Camp on my phone, I played everyday until after an update it was decided that it would not support my phone anymore and I went from playing every single day from the start to not being able to play at all for about a year until my son bought me a new phone and I found I could play again. Perhaps when I get going on my Switch and you do too we can visit each other, I think that would be cool as I don't have any friends either.

I am very sorry for your difficult situation, I cannot know how difficult it is, so it is probably useless to tell you to hold on until things improve because it was not useful with me in my difficult moments and it is still not work for some situations which are not going well, but I can tell you to hold on to the only thing you think will give you a chance, and no, I am not talking about AC. I am glad you found some serenity with Animal Crossing, but what I mean is that you have to find an alternative to have hope for. The least bad alternative of all, which even if it is painful can give you the most important thing: hope. Don't give up ... and remember to let off steam every now and then, with sport or with someone even if you don't know him in real life(one of my most important friend is virtual) ... the worst thing you can get to is apathy!
"We are flames on candles
We are made to burn
You can't always hold back
You have too much life to melt "
