HHP Roommates

I know you have to do this once to progress in the dlc but is there any point after that? Of course you can if you want but is there any real need? I thought I read that you unlock something after you do 3 roommate houses but I can't remember what. Is there anything you get or any reason you need to do this beyond the intital ones?

I’ve no idea whether or not this is the actual unlock for it, but after i did 3, Lottie told me that because we had so many roommates

Yes, you unlock the restaurant expansion once you have 3 pairs of roommates. After that, they don't unlock anything by themselves, but having more roommates would add to your "grade" for HHP, where every 5 roommates nets you 2 points (up to a max of 20 points / 50 roommates). Your grade determines your title after you've reached the Famous Designer title. You unlock the cafe expansion with the next title (Superstar Designer), so having more roommate houses can help you reach it quicker.
