Hello there
I don't know if some of you remember me, I posted on TBT a lot last year ! I had fun discussing with you all, trading, and creating character polls
New horizons and The Bell Tree forum helped me to relax and get good memories during the pandemic

I stopped playing the game and didn't post anything since October 2020, so I think it's time to re-introduce myself !
You can call me Magus, I'm french, 33 years old, I feel old but still loves Animal Crossing and video games in general, I especially did a lot of RPG in my life but it's hard to find a good one nowadays.
My main job is to be a freelance graphic designer but I'm also part-time fitness teacher.
2021 was a rough year for me on so many levels but since September life is returning to normal !

Kinda new to the AC world since I started with New Horizons (played New Leaf a little but didn't invest time in it), I played NH approximately 400 hours and took a break, but the new update announcement blew my mind and I want to play again and meet again with my villagers and island !
If you have some advice for me on where to start when you left your island for a year it would be great , I feel I missed a lot of events (halloween, winter, etc)...
I didn't relaunch the game yet since I have to finish Tales of Arise first, but I still have time before the 5th of november (which is also my birthday date btw, I think it's a message from destiny to replay NH lol)

i’m sorry to hear that 2021 was rough for you, but i’m glad that things are getting better! it’s also super cool that the acnh update drops on your birthday! it’s like getting a birthday present from nintendo lol.

It was the last villager that inspired me to create an area on my island just for her, kind of a weird area but it matches her vibes lol

Omg I can't imagine the amount of weeds, I find them pretty but you still have to control the spreading lol, I know what my first mission will be.
Concerning the direct honestly there is so much cool new things I can't remember them all
I would say :
- I absolutely love the gyroids I want them all.
- New villagers always warms my heart and encourage me to create new areas on my island. I really want to meet Shino and Sasha.
- In general more customization options for the island exteriors and houses is great too.
- Curious to see where Kapp'n will take me.

At first I wasn't sure how easy it was going to be to use gyroids for decorating, but seeing that they could be colour customised to fit different room décor made me very excited about them!

Yeah it seems there is a lot of variety in their designs and colors...
Personally, I don't know if I'll place them a little bit everywhere or if I will make one special area with tons of them in it

So i came back on my island yesterday, it was quite emotional, strangely not a lot of weeds but a lot of my island grounds are customized so...

However, one thing i found was cockroaches
I was wandering how to catch them but it seems you can't since they're inside your house

Aaaaaaah, cockroaches!

I've seen the cockroaches too, after taking a break from ACNH. I'm sure you've figured it out, but in case not, you can't catch them with your net, but you can get rid of them from your house by running on top of them. After doing that a couple of times, a message will tell you that your house is free of cockroaches. Phew.

Glad to see there is not too many weeds! Coming back, were you happy with how you had previously decorated your island?

Concerning the decoration, yes, I spent a lot of time on the exterior of the island and I was proud of what I did ☺
Not so much on my house though, the basement and the top floor are quite empty for now... But with the DLC I'm sure I will have inspo to fill up that !

I also noticed I still have exterior spaces to make some new areas... I feared it will be complicated to make room for the new things to come but I hope I can manage something.
