Hi, and welcome to TBT, Emma! ^^ I don't think that's sad at all; I think a lot of people started with New Horizons, and my first AC game was New Leaf, which I only started at the end of 2019.
Do you have any plans in mind for your island now that you've reset, or are you just going with the flow now that you know the game a little better? c:

Thank you for the warm welcome nice to hear I'm not the only one who's started playing later on. I'm thinking of a cute/cozy/hippie feel for my island, but I don't think I want to terraform too much, I like the deserted island vibe a lot.

Currently I'm trying to figure out my neighbors' yards (I placed their houses a little too tightly together tho) and crossbreeding flowers (I think I want mostly orange, pink and purple) and just setting up the general areas, I just finished building the campsite so I'm expecting a camper around tomorrow

There are some Amiibo card packs on sale at a game store in my area so I'm thinking about just buying a few and maybe have some characters move in if they're nice

New Horizons was my first Animal Crossing game too, other than Pocket Camp. Was there anything in particular about your old island that made you want to reset? Do you have any favourite villagers so far?

Thank you! The problems with my old island were mostly the infrastructure. I let the first two neighbors decide their own camping space and my own yard started blocking vault places because it was so close to the river, and it seemed very daunting to move everything. I do miss some of the items I had tho :/ I think all villagers add something different so far though I've noticed some similarities in dialogue and it seems you always start with a sporty type and some other, and sports aren't really my thing, but Sheldon's really a nice friend if you give him all of the sports related items you find lol

Thank you! The problems with my old island were mostly the infrastructure. Oh, it sort of makes sense to restart if you don't like where any of the houses are! Eventually you could move them all, but it's kind of impractical and expensive when you've recently started and you're trying to pay to build bridges/pay off your house/buy items.

Yeah, the two villagers you start with are "jock" and "sisterly", and I didn't think I'd like the jock villagers, but my jock starter grew on me and has never left!

i don’t really play new horizons much anymore tbh, plus i’m actually in the process of sending my switch lite in to get some repairs done, so i probably wouldn’t make the greatest friend rn haha, but i don’t think it’s sad at all that you’re 22 and only getting into animal crossing now! we’ve all gotta start somewhere, right? and like @/Merielle said, new horizons was plenty of people’s first game as well, and there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that! all that matters is that you’re having fun. the plans you have for your island sound awesome! i wish you the best of luck with it. <33

Hey Emma my names Cynthia it's nice to meet you and I know how you feel I had brought Animal Crossing New Horizons last year in December and I too am new to Animal crossing since I've only ever played ACNH so there's was alot for me to learn about Animal crossing.I hope you made some awesome friends.Hows your island so far I've thought about resetting my island but I'm too hesitant I didn't know you couldn't move the plaza or airport I wish the game had told me lol
