I really love New York, and I'd love to have conversations with someone who's from there, to ask them how is life there, among several other things. You can reply to this thread if you'd like to chat with me :). I'm from Guadalajara, Mexico.

This thread could also be used to post anything New York related, to comment about NY, or to simply chat with other New Yorkers!

I've never been to New York myself, but one of my older brothers has, and he told me it's highly over rated. They pay well over there (depending on the job), but it evens out because everything is expensive there, too.

I've watched some YouTubers explain how, since it's very crowded over there, you'll often have problems trying to drive anywhere and you'll also meet a lot more crazy people who do weird stuff like throw poop at you or follow you around asking for drug money.

I don't live there, myself, but I don't think I'd like it anyway. I don't like places that are way too crowded with cars and buildings.

I'm from New York state, not New York City which I assume you mean. A lot of people think New York is just the city for some reason, but the city is just a small part of New York. Where I live its just farms in the middle of no where; theres a lot of corn fields and cows. I don't think its all that different from anywhere else. I've been to NYC if you have questions on it, but just know that most of actual New York is countryside.

Yeah lol I know that aside from NYC,Buffalo and Albany, New York is a very rural state, but I still love it, and I'd like to go there someday.

I've been to NYC twice. I think it's definitely a cool experience to visit as there is a LOT to see and do in the downtown core. One thing I wasn't expecting was the abundance of people dressed in Disney/cartoon mascot suits walking around everywhere. It was really fun. There are also so many cabs, it's insane. And all the lights and attractions were exciting. But I wouldn't want to live there because it's hectic, loud and dirty. I can't speak to the rest of New York state.

Never take a picture with the mascot people they'll try to charge you money lmao. Theres other scans like someone bumping into you and breaking their glasses or phone and asking you to pay for it.

New York is great. Always a new place to explore, went there pretty often as a kid cuz i lived right outside the city. Good food, a lot to do. Interesting cultural communities with Koreatown, Chinatown, Little Italy, Harlem, Spanish Harlem. Also everyone is hotter in New York.

Its sad because gentrification has been driving families including mine who lived there for generations out and now all the rich white yuppy hipsters dominate the city.

But go to Nintendo Land, get some good food, and see a Broadyway show or museum or something. It'll be expensive but a pretty simple way to enjoy the city.
