Hints of Returning Fearures in New Horizons

I was watching this video:

which analyzes one of the many various gifts you can get when pre-ordering Animal Crossing: New Horizons. At around 0:48 seconds is where one of the hints are shown. Or you can view the image here:

Based on the bottle floating in the water, it can either hint at messages in bottles making a return in New Horizons (which would be great if that's the case) or it can be an homage to Animal Crossing: Wild World.

At 2:20, or in the image above, you can see a sailboat, as well, which hopefully means Kapp'n will be making a return along with island traveling.

At around 2:58, or in the image above the tail of a whale is shown, which can be a simple decoration choice, the ability to fish for whales or possibly whale watching. What I didn't know was you could find giant fish shadows in Animal Crossing GCN when you sail on Kapp'n's boat which were rumored to be whale shadows. Why am I just finding that out? Seems like AC GCN still has secrets I'm oblivious to.

Do you think messages in bottles will make a return? I hope sure do hope so.

I really hope so!!! I loved getting all the random messages and sending my own out to sea.

As for the whales, it would be really cool if we couldn't catch them and would just see whales jumping out of the water every once in a while or during a specific time. Or maybe we could only catch them if we had multiple friends to help c: except id feel kind of bad selling whales
even if it is a video game :c

Omg yessss I missed the note in a bottle in NL so much!! The island theme would be so fitting for it. I wondered if that whale tail was maybe a mermaid type of thing but I dunno how that would work lol, either way im so excited

i absolutely would love for messages in bottles to return, i absolutely loved sending thos eoff as a kid when i played wild world. im hoping that with this, you can send them via the internet so people in other towns can get them, and u can interact with irl people in a fun way. Otherwise, at least the option to send messages in a bottle to friends would be nice.

I also am keen to catch a whale now that its been mentioned haha.

I would love for the bottles to return! I didn’t really get to do anything with them in wild world because I first played it when that game was kinda dead lol. So I’d love it to return.

I would hope so!!! I loved messages in a bottle as a kid, they were so cool to me and it does good to keep in mind that Nintendo is clearly pushing for more online multiplayer aspects of their games, especially with Nintendo online. So I would think that you'd be able to maybe random send your friend-codes or perhaps town-codes or whatever, or maybe just to randomly send gifts or messages to anonymous people for fun.

I wonder if when you send it you'll have an option like: "Send it to a nearby island" and "Send it far away". Or something lol? That way you can decide if only your friends can receive it or strangers. Or maybe they will have the same kind of algorithm as WW where it is slightly random (If I'm remembering correctly)?

Really hope they gonna make a return here, those messages in a bottle were such a funny feature in the previous games and it would also fit perfectly to the island theme of New Horizons if you ask me.
