Hold my things (And MAYBE sell things for bells?) (Not sure where this goes?)?

I just bought animal crossing: new leaf again and the game I bought already has data on it...So, me being the little thief I am (I'M JOKING), I'm taking the stuff and putting it to the side. I figured out how to do the amiibo update and I want to change the name of the town and my character's name , since it's not really well off already. Tomorrow, I'll be buying a few amiibo and SOS:TOT, so I'll need a place to momentarily put my things without them being stolen. It's rare and expensive furniture (and possibly bells), which is why I'm hesitant, but desperate. Any takers? It'll take a little while, so I'll need to leave my things somewhere I KNOW they won't vanish and someone won't pick them up and use them for their own house and never give them back.
