While I went over what the best game is when it came to hourly music, I should probably rank the hourly music from best to worst on each game. Because I judge based on emotion rather than art, I have a poor sense of judgement. But I can try my best on ranking these tunes.

GameCube Version:

Although the tunes are strong and catchy, the quality tends to be poor. Some tunes are better than others.

  • #1: 11:00 AM
  • #2: 7:00 AM
  • #3: 5:00 PM

  • #21: 1:00 AM
  • #22: 2:00 AM
  • #23: 3:00 AM
  • #24: 4:00 AM
Wild World/City Folk:

The Wild World hourly tunes are by average the worst. Mainly because I do not like the A-Major scale and how they play the tunes (Mario Kart did it right with Rainbow Road, Animal Crossing couldn’t do it right). Also, the sound quality is poor.

New Leaf:

New Leaf’s hourly music is the most cinematic of the hourly music. Probably like a stage musical. But without the catchy tunes, it’s the weakest of the three. Here’s my ranking:

  • #1: 3:00 AM
  • #2: 6:00 AM
  • #3: 12:00 PM
  • #4: 7:00 PM
  • #5: 3:00 PM

  • #14: 11:00 AM
  • #15: 7:00 AM
  • #16: 10:00 AM
  • #17: 1:00 PM
  • #18: 8:00 AM
  • #19: 4:00 PM
  • #20: 4:00 AM
  • #21: 10:00 PM
  • #22: 11:00 PM
  • #23: 12:00 AM
  • #24: 1:00 AM
Conclusion:

Good or bad, most hourly tunes are in the average zones. However, if they land in the top four on any list, it’s really good (especially when I’m talking about Wild World). If they land in the bottom four, it’s really bad (especially when I’m talking about New Leaf). What do they all have in common? The hourly music in last place is within the first six hours on the AM side. Also, the 6:00 AM music is either in the top four or bottom four.

If I’m going by hourly ranges, GameCube is at the best at the evening hours (4:00 to 7:59 PM) and the early morning hours (6:00 to 8:59 AM) while it’s at the worst at the early dawn hours (12:00 to 2:59 AM) and the late dawn hours (3:00 to 5:59 AM). Wild World is too scrambled up so I can’t choose which is best. New Leaf is at the best at the early morning hours (6:00 to 8:59 AM) and afternoon hours (12:00 to 3:59 PM), while it’s at the worst at the night hours (8:00 to 11:59 PM) and early dawn hours (12:00 to 2:59 AM). Basically, I don’t like the hours from the depths of the night.
