Got him as a campsite villager, invited him to replace Zucker - I’ll be sad to see Zucker go, but he wasn’t going to be permanent, Marina is my fav as sweet as Zucker is. So anyway, Raymond isn’t a dreamie but I couldn’t decline him as his popularity may allow me to trade for a dreamie and give someone else theirs (I don’t care about villager values really, as far as I’m concerned I’m happy if I can trade Raymond for any dreamie), so just wondering where I stand in terms of trading please? I can try to keep him all original - interested to know if the campsite games and winning items off them etc can affect their inventory and make them less original? Also am I able to trade/give away Zucker with him leaving through this method, or not?

TBH, I don't see a lot of villager trading. At least on this forum, at this time. Maybe somewhere else, but then you'd be better off asking there.

Usually, people either giveaway villagers or sell them for TBT on here. Raymond is still popular, and people will pay a little more than average for an ungifted one, but he's nowhere near worth what he used to be (I don't think anyone's spending real money on him anymore, lol). Villager trading/buying/selling is just generally pretty quiet right now, since the game is a lot less popular than it used to be (especially during the pandemic). Maybe if you hold out for the next update, or at least news of it- that could bring in more interest in the game. BUT. Amiibo cards may be released around the same time, and it's a very safe bet Raymond will be getting an Amiibo at that point, so that'll affect it. But, like I said, villager prices are down, at least on this forum. They usually go for around 50 TBT a piece for most. Raymond tends to be most expensive, but even then, prices fluctuate. I've paid over 700 TBT for him on two occassions, but I was desperate. Other times, I see him being given away and ending up getting voided. It's about luck and patience with selling villagers. If you really want to "trade" him, I think you'd be better off (if you want to use this forum, at least) maybe selling him for TBT and then using that to buy a dreamie. If you do that, you could possibly have some TBT leftover as well. But, like I said, the villager market is pretty dead right now (though I'm assuming it'll pick up with the update/direct, since it should bring new players/players back.

And, if Zucker is in boxes, you can give him away or trade him (though trading is complicated and requires a second island or a trusted friend to hold a villager for you) or sell him, but once he moves he's gone for good. Villagers go in boxes IMMEDIATELY after they agree to move out for the campsite villager.

Anyone, that's my super long, rambling answer. I... I hope it makes sense, I'm tired 😅

Tysm, makes a lot of sense! Sort of affirmed what I’ve seen although sort of hoping with Raymond being one of the more popular villagers I might find someone who I can trade with! Worst case scenario it’ll be fun to eventually meet him after all the hype! It’s sad in a way - don’t get me wrong I think it was extreme the amount he would go for and I’m glad things have calmed down, but I used to love villager trading and feel like even years after NL was released the trading game was still pretty strong. NH is still my favourite regardless though - although admittedly hoping for some exciting stuff in the upcoming update!! Thank you :)
