How do I duplicate?

How do I duplicate furniture in this game? I cant figure it out. Sorry im so dumb x3

uhhh I could be wrong but iirc you like press L (or R) and touch the item or something

Hold the L and tap the furniture. It only works on single pieces, not groups.

Also, I think you have to get far enough in the game for Isabelle to teach you the feature for it to actually work, could be wrong though. (when building the school)

You're right.

I was wondering about it because I saw you duplicating items on your stream. After I designed a few homes I tried to duplicate and nothing happened.
