How do I get a certain villager to move out without time travelling? I heard that hitting nets on them works and ignoring and not accepting their requests. If this is correct how many days would this take? I giving Stitches to someone and I do not want them waiting before Thursday.

I think you can talk to Isabelle and report the villager you want to get rid of. (I'm new to this game so I'm not 100% sure, but I have seen that option before)

Ignoring him and being mean might make him want to stay even longer. Try being very friendly instead. Give gifts, talk to him, run his errands and accept invitations to hang out. It's usually your friends who want to move away.

Well just simply ignore them don't hit them and don't talk but I did find a way I trap someone then he wanted to talk with me I thought it was something else until I heard my villager he was moving

There is no specific or "set" way to get villager move-outs, but there are a few options...

1) Ignore Them Completely. This is the least recommended option, as if you are not on "talking terms" (AKA, they have normal conversations with you and not commenting on how long you've been gone) they will not "ping" you (this is when they make a "realization" sort of emotion and run up to you). When a villager pings you, they may be asking to move out, hence why you shouldn't ignore them.

2) The Diving Trick. The diving trick is a non-time-travelling method to getting more pings. All you have to do is go diving into the sea (in your own town) and leave you character for 10 - 15 minutes. After the time has passed, simply walk past your villagers. You sometimes get a ping, which could lead to a villager asking to move out.

3) Being Mean To Them. This is the method you mentioned in your original post. I'm not sure how well this works, as I've never used it, but, again, I wouldn't suggest ignoring them. Denying their requests and generally not being nice should work, but I don't think hitting them with nets has much effect.

4) Becoming Friends With Them?! Yes, you read correctly. Often, villagers more friendly toward you wish to move out. I don't really know why, but it's definitely a thing mentioned by other players on this forum. This is probably the most risky/least likely to work method.

One thing to note, talking to Isabelle does not work. She just mentions stuff about changing their catchphrase.

Hope this helps!! :D

So whats the option for reporting a problematic citizen for? I thought it was to get rid of Villagers. I have a couple I don't care for and I was thinking about reporting them, but I'm not so sure now! Thanks.

I think that option is for changing their catchphrase if it's "offensive" or something. Not entirely sure as I've never used it.

if you hit them with nets and ignore them, they will stay longer, especially if you have talked to them alot in the past.
I had Snake move into my town in a really bad position and i talked to him a few times, then i wanted him out. I tried hitting him and he never pinged. I tried ignoring him and not talking to him and he never pinged. When I started talking to him alot and making friends with him, he pinged to move out really soon!

I'm just getting confused. Even if you had this villager for 7 months or so and that your friendship is good being mean will make him not move? Is it being mean or having a good friendship?

If you're friends and then you start hitting the villager and being mean, it will weaken your friendship. It's best to strengthen your friendship. Stitches is more likely to suggest moving if you treat him kindly.

Lots of misconceptions in this thread haha

Hitting villagers with nets, pushing them into pitfalls and reporting them to Isabelle does absolutely nothing
It doesn't make them want to stay even more, nor does it make them want to leave the town.

These villagers are AI and don't have feelings :)

Ignoring villagers doesn't make them move out faster
They will move out at the same chance as every other villager, except they just won't tell you that they'll be moving.

The diving trick does not generate new move-out pings
A new mover is selected withing 5 days of declining a request.

Villagers you are good friends with have an equal chance of moving out than villagers whom you are not good friends with.
People may think that villagers you are friends with are more likely to move out because people ususally are good friends with the majority of the villagers in that town, so the random move-out lottery is more likely to land on one of their good friends.

Move out requests are 100% random
Every 5 days a new one will be generated.

Hope this clears things up a bit :)

Completely accurate! I've had villagers who I've only said hello when they moved in and ignored them unless for pings and moved out super fast and others who took forever. I constantly get move out pings from the villagers I'm best friends with and talk to every day. It's honestly completely random.

I will say to definitely talk to a villager you don't want to move out. Sometimes, they'll mention someone else is thinking of moving. Whenever no one is interested in moving, they'll mention a rumor. But it's usually within 5 days (sometimes less) afterward someone will ask to move out.

Good luck!

I'm fairly certain that villagers who want to move out is random.
