I see lots of threads about buying, selling, or trading villagers. How exactly does that work? What is involved?

When I read the threads it still doesn't explain how they are traded. So that doesn't really answer my question. I am looking for instructions on how to trade. Do you have to go to their village, or what? What makes them decide to move to your town?

When they are in boxes, the other person you are trading with visits your town. Once that person speaks with your villager (who is in boxers) there will be an option for them to select such as "You should come move into my town".

They are in boxes on the day they are getting ready to leave your town.

The way you receive your villager is by visiting someone else's town and speaking to the villager you were promised. You'll get the option to invite them to move into your town (if you haven't already had them in your town before).

Does this help or? :c

So, say I have a villager you want and you came over the day that villager was packed up and "in boxes". You'll know they're "in boxes" because inside their house, there are boxes everywhere.

Anyways, you come over, and visit that villager. During the conversation, you ask the villager to move to your town. At that point, the deed is done.

If the town mayor visits that villagers house, they get a "moved out" message. The next day, the house is gone from that town, and the move in process begins for your town.

Best to post when your villager is ready to go or "in boxes".

Yes, thank you, that is very helpful. It explains it nice and clearly. I really wanted to know because there are some villagers I would love to have. Now I know how to get them. Thank you very much. :)
