How do you grow grass back?

You use flowers on the dirt and you water them right? I been doing that and I'm not seeing results. How long does it take? Does it work on the dirt spots that came with my town? That's what I been trying to grow back. I haven't seen actual grass wear yet. I think. I'm not that observant with my grass. And does the rain really grow it all back?

You're doing it right, but those dirt spots that came with your town are permanent. Only grass that has actually worn down can be grown back.

The flowers don't immediately grow it back in one day. It just speeds up the process. I feel running around a lot helps with grass deterioration.
