If you’ve traveled forward to the Halloween event, how many pieces of candy did you need to get all of the items from villagers and Jack? I just want to know if I have enough candy saved up or if I need to start visiting islands like crazy for these last few days! (I have 32 pieces of candy now, so I should have 38 by Halloween if I only buy on my own island every day.)

I brought a full stack and didn’t need them all. Plus, you can keep going to the villagers houses for more candy.

If you wear the costume, it counts as a costume since some won’t give you candy unless you have a costume - not wand outfit costume. I believe you can trick each villager only once but the ones indoors, you can keep visiting for another candy. I did not test if there was a limit but I was able to get by and get some extra when I went to a friend’s island.

Ooh, I played through the event today with my niece! 38 should be more than enough if you only care about getting one of each item and DIY.

I started off with 27 candies and ended the night with 23. I used @Stella-Io's method from the link @Pyoopi posted, and it worked. It's not a difficult event, just time consuming.

How do you get lollipops? Nooks only sell candy.
It’s given randomly to you by your villagers when you give them candy. You can also get candy as “Jack”, but I don’t know if this yields lollipops as well.

I remember looking at a Halloween guide (I forget which website or else I’d post the source!) that said it was recommended to have at least 15 pieces of candy.

I TT'd and had 15 candies on Halloween. It worked out great and I ended up with a lot left over.

Spoiler below explaining why you shouldn't really worry about how much candy you have going into Halloween-
When you get Jack's costume from Jack, you can trick your 10 villagers into thinking that you are Jack and they will give you candy. So that gives you an automatic 10 candies, not counting the ones you get from "trick-or-treating" at your villager's houses (if they are home). PLUS if you run out of candy, put Jack's costume on and your villagers will not go up to you and ask for candy because they think you are Jack. So theoretically you could get by with only a few pieces of candy.

Thanks for making this! Both reminded me to buy candy and now I know roughly how much I need and that I don't need to stress too much :3

yeah that was IGN's guide. I was annoyed bc they said "at least 15 pieces but more would be most ideal" which is the vaguest and least helpful statement ever.

Thanks for all your help, everyone! Happy Halloween to all. I don't tt so I'm super pumped.
