Just curious, but how often do you talk to your villagers at once? I think the maximum you can talk to them is five times before they don’t want to talk anymore. I’m trying to get as many requests from them as possible each day, but I’m not sure how much I should talk to each of them everyday. Also, if you do talk to them too much, does it lower your friendship when they don’t want to talk anymore?

I think it slightly lowers your friendship, but not much. Probably will if you continue to talk to them after they become depressed
For me it depends on how long I've had them for, but my max is usually three. But if it's for my two who've been here the longest, about five. But I can talk Marshal's ear off for about six more times, but I've also had him since the beginning. But I dont go over three usually.

I always talk to my villagers four times. If I don't get a favor request by the fourth time, I'm very sure that they don't have one. I'm pretty sure talking to them until they don't want to talk anymore doesn't actually lower friendship with them; I feel like I saw that on a friendship guide somewhere. But if you just want to do favors for them, four times has always been enough for me to find the ones with favors.
