How to choose your villagers

Hello! I just started recently my island. I am aiming to make an ape island (only gorillas and monkeys). I have been trying to get villagers off Nookazon. I thought gorillas weren't too popular but it has been imposible to get any because everyone asks for an insane amount of money they don't even specify, I just keep getting all my offer denied... how are you guys doing it in a way thay is not mere luck? I only get villagers I don't want in the campsite and Nook wants me to get more villagers.

I use Amiibo cards to get the villagers I want but a lot of people here on TBT will give you villagers for free in the New Neighbor Network forum.

As the previous replier mentioned, you have multiple options!

There's amiibos, but legitimate ones can be a bit hard to come by especially for sought after villagers. Some people sell fake ones on Etsy that function the same though. That's the only way to guarantee you get the villager you want without relying on other players.

You can go Nook Miles Ticket hunting across various islands, but if you want to only find one specific villager, it can take hundreds of tickets.

People sell/trade/give away villagers here at New Neighbor Network, on Reddit, on Nookazon, across various ACNH Discord servers.

I would check the services here in the forum and if you have any of their amiibo cards then that’s an easy and sure way to get them.

There used to be some threads on here with villager shops those might still be a thing.

Also as far as Nookazon goes, there should be a way to see what the average cost is for a villager. I haven’t been on there in a while since i’m not actively playing.

Those villagers should be fairly easy to find and there’s always villager hunting!

depending on how you feel about it + if you have a newer smartphone there are also ways to make your own "custom" amiibo cards. i'm not sure how Allowed it is to talk about on here but it's easy enough to find info on with a bit of googling

don't bother with nookazon imo, the people on there will charge you way too much... between tbt's villager board, reddit, and searching up the "villager name in boxes" on twitter, you should be able to find your dream monkeys!

It seems you've got a decent amount of options to pick from - I wish you the best of luck! I've come to really appreciate the gorillas. Boyd is a mainstay on my island, he totally won me over.

I'm mostly commenting though to let you know that there are no gorillas with the normal personality, so any DIYs that normals tend to hand out will be harder to come by and you'll most likely have to trade for them (or randomly find them in the DIY bottles on the beach). Not that it's a huge deal, but I wanted to mention it!
