When you come across a post that is either obviously spam, breaks TBT's rules, or is just flat-out inappropriate for TBT, here's what you should and shouldn't do, to make it easiest for the staff to deal with, allowing it to be deleted/closed as soon as possible, and for the offending poster to be dealt with as quickly as possible.
Please help the staff by:
-Clicking the "report" button on the post. Your report does not have to be an essay, just in a sentence or two let us know what's wrong if it isn't obvious just by looking at it.
-Check the online users list on the bottom of the board index (main page of TBT forums) and PM any mod/admin online. This is only necessary for really bad posts. For example, if someone posted links to a harmful website or gross pictures, or posting tons of spam topics all over TBT, this is helpful. Otherwise, just reporting is enough.
Please do not:
-Reply to the spammer. This only shows them that they're getting your attention and encourages them to continue doing it. Also, by replying you're bumping the topic so even more people will have to read it.
-Try to moderate the situation yourself. If you report the post, the staff will take care of it. We are able to delete posts, suspend people, etc.; calling someone a name, telling them to "shut up", etc. does not help anything and will most likely just result in you being warned, too.
