How to get rid of empty glitched house?

I happened to have an oopsie during the amiibo glitch, and I now have a built, but completely empty house. It counts as a villager spot and I cannot get my 10th villager because of it. It has the name of Boris, who I have as a villager, so he has 2 houses basically??? Any idea how to get rid of this????

you'll have to get boris to move out. when he does, both the empty house and the house he stays in will disappear.

as someone who's experienced this glitch twice, it was so difficult getting them to move out as they'll only leave if you allow them, unlike in previous games where some would just move out if you skip a year in advance. i personally feel as if it's random since i'd talk to villagers i'm keeping but they'd still ask about moving out. you can check other guides though, like this one—maybe it'll help!
