I bought it off of amazon. I have no idea how to use it please help.. merengue has an open umbrella in her house >__<

Did you get a code? Go to the Nintendo Eshop from the home menu and then to enter code and enter the code!

for you to change villagers' interiors you have to have played the DLC for a while.
you unlock customizing villager homes on your island after designing 30 happy home paradise vacation homes

I know you replied to someone else but it took me a few months. As long as you have fun designing in HHP thats all that should matter! The point of the DLC is to have fun designing the homes and re-fixing YOUR villagers homes is more like the small reward for "almost finishing" the DLC.

once you are able to fix the villagers homes how many exterior options do they have for their homes? for me the whole point is to unlock that but hopefully I enjoy it

You can change the exterior style and colors, just not the size .

I don't have the exact number of choices, but you'll have the same access you have on HHP. You can change the style, siding, roof, door, and wreath.

If you really wanted to blast through it, it really doesn't matter what you do in the home as long as you have the three selected pieces of furniture somewhere in the home. So you could just grind orders, place the three selected items wherever and then do literally nothing else. I believe 40 is the requisite number before Tom Nook will inform you about being able to customize villager homes. It's not the fun way, but if you want to quickly meet the quota, then it's a way.

Talk to Niko and tell him you want to visit a home, choose the home you want to remodel, then when you arrive talk to the owner and tell them you want to remodel.

It’s 30 homes to redo villagers houses.
