How to time travel safely?

I really don't want to mess up events or anything important. I'm only doing it to speed up moving some houses around but what's the cons?
Does anything bad happen if I was to go backwards? - like with the letters / progress I've made. I know in NL TTing was mostly fine but I don't want to get caught out in NH.

If I was to time travel a day forward, move a house, then time travel back to today, could I then move another house and repeat or can I only go forward?

Thanks for your time

If you were to TT forwards a day to move a house, and TT back to today, you'd be able to keep moving houses. Shouldn't cause any issues, because it's only one day. However, if you have turnips and TT, they WILL rot. Just an FYI. :)

^ the main thing with tting backwards is of course turnips immediately going rotten, so watch out for that if you've spent all your bells! if you move a house, then move forward a day, then move back to today everything should be fine. one thing to keep an eye out for with tting backwards also is sometimes it doesn't count as a day - i don't quite know if this'll clearly explain it but if you were to, for example, tt to tomorrow, move a house 'tomorrow', and then jump back to today i think the house would still be in the process of being moved? i'm sure people will correct me if i'm wrong, that might only apply to other functions

This is correct. Source: did it this morning :’)

TT is pretty much safe gameplay wise, except for the turnips rotting if you TT backwards aside from that you only get weeds and cockroaches at worst. However, I can’t remember exactly if it’ll mess up the dates on some your nook achievements stamps especially the active island resident one. If those things don’t bother you though then it’s fine.

As the posters above mentioned, there really isn’t any issue TTing, other than rotten turnips and to make sure you TT day-by-day when villagers move in (there have been rare reports that the interiors don’t change correctly otherwise).

The worst thing that I come across TTing is the pain of cleaning up weeds and killing roaches— nothing 10-15min of labor cannot solve!
