Hello, new to AC and also new to forum.

My wife and I will be playing this game on two (three really) separate switches, we have the family sub, and recently got the animal crossing console to add to our existing two... I plan on having one at work (switch lite) and us using our two switches at home.

My question since we are not playing ever on same console can I be a home owner on her island and vice versa? And that means that since every switch is a separate island I cant just be a (2) homeowner in my own island when I play at work or do I have to create a second island while at work? Hope that made sense.

No. You can only be a home owner on each other's islands if you have a profile on the same system. If you have a profile on her system then you can have a house on her island. But, that will be completely separate from the game file on your switch. Does that make sense?

Each Switch has its own island, and save data, regardless of using the same Nintendo ID. You cannot own houses on any island other than the 1 owned by the Switch you're currently playing on.

You can make a profile and house on your wife's Switch, but the character, and the character save data have no relationship to the save data on your switch.

You can visit each others island though and essentially work on it as much as you want though. What I recommend:

You make a profile on your wifes island and your wife makes one on your island. The characters will still be separate from the one on your individual switch, but a least you can plan where your house goes for that profile, and you can collect furniture from your island to bring over to your wifes island when you visit there so you can add it to your house there.
