I accidently opened a gift I as supposed to deliver, and I'm glad I did

Miranda had asked me to give Bangle a gift like two or three days ago. By accident, I opened the gift. I was upset at first but then I saw it was this ugly shirt that Bangle would have started wearing and then a trend would have started with this shirt. Now Miranda is mad at me because I opened the gift and said it was for Bangle. Sorry, Miranda, I know I probably lost some friendship points with you but it was worth it to keep this shirt from seeing the light of day. I forgot what shirt it was since I sold it but it was not a shirt Bangle would have looked good in.

If I were to recall, I think it was the black and white striped shirt. I think it was one of the starter shirt.

Yep they give each other ugly stuff, this is why I'vr had 2 going around with the instant muscles suit. if you take the gift snd forget to give it til the next day it say something like "what is this?" when you highlight it. as far as i know if you open it then no one gets made. I think they forget after the first day. I just know i've actually forgotten til the next day and the sender never mentioned it.

Every time I take a request to deliver something for another villager, I open it to check. If it's a nice outfit (very rare!) that fits the look, I'll rewrap it and deliver. If not, I sell it.

The next day, they will ask if you could give it back. They will get a bit pouty/upset, but talk to them again and everything is fine. The pixels have very short attention spans.

Lol, I usually only help with gifts if I'm willing for that villager to wear something silly. Though I've actually been surprised by some super cute outfits in the past! But then... there was also Del's baby romper. Del was always going to be a temporary villager, but BOY did that speed up his moving date

But it looks like now we can actually fully remove outfits from rotation with Isabelle, in case you do give them a gift that turns out awful!

Ive never dared to open the presents, but after reading other comments on here im less worried checking if its a ugly outfit or not. I will just rewrap

I never really cared how my villagers dressed. I don’t open gifts being delivered. Yeah, some tops look a bit off on certain villagers, but who am I to tell them what they can and cannot wear? I mean, no disrespect to anyone who cares. It just never bothered me.

I have never opened the gifts that I deliver for other islanders but whenever they make me stay to open the gift its always the most basic item Then I will see my islander wearing the "ugly" item but they do not wear my nice pretty item that I got for them.

I kinda like the story telling aspects of the gift giving and things ending up "less than perfect",, especially now that we can even remove clothing from their wardrobes anything they get is fine really, worst case you can just have Isabelle take it out of their rotation. That said I do enjoy picking out outfits for them and see them wear them, it makes me happy, but inbetween those outfits they can wear what they want to.

I just saw the post today that announced that villagers clothes can be removed from rotation. That's a nice feature to have.

I normally don't don't open villagers gifts to each other either as I am usually very careful but oopies can happen.

Miranda gave me another chance to deliver another gift. Taking it to Chief right now before I accidently open it again. XD
