Hello everyone!

New Horizons being out soon, I wanted to find a chill and friendly community to play along with.

Life can get stressful sometimes as we worry about the job, mortgage and bills... I figure a small daily dose AC:NH is exactly the antidote I need.

My animal crossing history consists entirely of about a month playing New Leaf... never did save enough to afford to buy that new bridge before life got in the way (that and when you work full time, being able to play only when it's night in-game got a bit depressing!), so this will be the first AC I intend to properly stick with by playing a bit every day or so, even if for just 10 mins.

Haven't been active in forums since my University days... what walks of life does everyone here come from? Are there fellow working professionals to share my office-escapism dreams?
(But I'm sure all the people who don't fit that bill are also lovely and I hope to get to know y'all soon!)

See you around!

Duck :D

welcome to the bell tree! im definitely looking forward to NH aswell.

welcome to TBT, it is a nice place to play along the games with... and a good way to exchange in game goods around.

I also am a working professional, although its weird to say that. I work a typical 9-5 type deal, but a little flexibility in it. AC is definitely an escape from that, so hopefully this and NH can help you escape

Hey Duck,

welcome to the forums! I just got back here today after a long break. I?m in the same age range as you, but I?ve been a fan since Animal Crossing came out on the GameCube and I really can?t wait for New Horizons. Lucky for me, I?m working flextime, so I usually get enough opportunities to play. Feel free to ask if you need figure something out, there are lots of helpful people on the forums.

are people this old even allowed to have hobbies?
Unfortunately not, hence why I'm posting incognito online - I don't want to be reported.

Well, we're allowed to play a musical instrument, follow sports, or learn a foreign language I think? So I have a Japanese tutor I see once a week and frequently impress her with how much I suck at acquiring new languages. It beats pretending to like football at least :p

I dream of flextime. Closest I get is when a freelance project allows me to work from home... but then I usually just stress about not taking advantage and end up working twice as much instead!

Haha, I know, right?! People always think working from home is easy, but you have to manage so many different aspects that it can be quite difficult if you want to keep a healthy balance of everything. Take good care of yourself! :lemon:

If someone going into their 30s isn't allowed to have a hobby then I find that to be reweeealy ridiculous and kinda shady :lemon:

Welcome to the forum! This really is a pretty chill community so hopefully you'll feel at home here ;;

Maaaan, if 30-somethings aren't allowed here I guess I should GTFO. :D

I'm also a working professional and absolutely need some form of escapism, so relaxing games like Animal Crossing are a must-have for me. Dose me up with some games and kitty cuddles and all is right in the world.

Welcome to TBT, also!

It's awesome to see people joining Animal Crossing to escape life's grievances. Especially people beyond their teenage years/20s, lol. Kids, you know? Welcome to The Bell Tree! :D

I hope you have a lovely time around here- and don't be a stranger. You're right about this being a chill, friendly community.

Thank you all for the warm welcome! Hope to get to know you over coming months.

I mean, that's what online gatekeeping has taught me....
Yeah not gonna lie, it taught me that too!

Not that I majorly care - being out of your teens/early twenties does mean you?re comfortable enough in yourself to go around not caring about the judgement of others - but I can?t deny I end up expecting online communities to be mostly made of teens and students. Pleasantly surprised to be greeted by so many fellow ?old people? here.

Hello! I'm also in my 30s, though I work from home rather than in an office. I've only been playing AC:NL since June or so, so I'm also new to the franchise. Very excited for NH!

And sheesh,'yall, 30's is not old. At all. 30's are kind of liberating to be honest. Still so much time ahead, but you finally have the life experience to be less foolish and more confident than you were in your 20s.

Oh, believe me, I know. But other online communities - especially gaming ones - can often make being in your thirties feel old, that's for sure!

Hello! Welcome to the forums. <3 I'm 25 and have found for the most part that people on here are really welcoming no matter what. :)

I'm super excited for ACNH as well. Hope to play with you sometime!
