Yes, I found this out in my cycling town. Someone who came to adopt gave my mayor a balloon, so I kept running around with it until a day I had bad luck. My mayor tripped, and the balloon lifted up, rising away.

I remember the first time I experienced my balloon floating away when I tripped, I just stared at my screen with such sad eyes. I was internally going: "No... Balloon... Come back..." ;__;

I think it was a pink or indigo balloon as well & they're my favourite coloured balloons.

The balloon accident has happened to me too. I can't even remember which balloon it was, but it's so sad.

What happens if you trip while holding ice cream? Will that also leave a stain. I'm so desperate to know, I have a chocolate ice cream and it's going to be hilarious.

Yeah, the whole balloon thing happened to me too early on in my game. But I get a lot of street passes so I got it back eventually.

Today my mayor has an unlucky day so I took my chance to try it out.

First was the take away coffee cup from Brewster.
I splashed the coffee cup on the ground, no stains but it did disappear.

Then I tripped with icecream, but I recovered from the fall along with my icecream. I suppose it has some dirt topping now, but other than that it's fine. Hmm, crunchy.
