I do have a questions about Banned/Suspended account

I was so curious, I have seen banned/suspended accounts okay here are my questions.
1.) How will you know if you're banned?
2.) If your account is banned/suspended is it ermmm is it forever? or how many days?

If I remember correctly, it starts out has infractions. So if I go and spam a bunch of threads a mod will tell me to stop and give me an infraction (I think you can have ten of them?) and you'll be suspended for like an hour or something. Now if I keep doing that I'll get more infractions and the time I'm suspended goes up to a day, to two days, to a week, ECT. I'm pretty sure when you're suspended and try to visit the forum, it'll say you are suspended for X amount of day instead of showing the actual forum or if you're banned, will say you're banned obviously.

I'm not sure on my information because it only happened to me before the forum was upgraded, it could be different now. However, you'll understand why it happened and you'll have quite a few chances before you are banned so don't worry about it.

1) when you try log on/visit the forums, it'll tell you that you've been banned/suspended
2) underneath it'll tell you the date your ban will be lifted, or if you've been banned 5eva.

Yeah, that system seems pretty similar to the one my server's forums have in place. Also, we ban 6eva! We've got you guys beaten! (Nah, just joking. )
