why some items in the shop are sold out? I was hoping to change my user title for 1 bell, but I left empty handed. I hope this feature becomes available again in the near future?

In the past you did have to pay too change your user title but you don't anymore (I think)

You can just change it on your profile without having to buy then thing

Uxie and Swiftstream are correct. You can change your user title in profile settings.
