I finally found my weather seed. Is it silly? I am excited. You guys were right. Using the star time was so much faster. I just kept imputing the times and gaps until I got down to one seed.

It actually was not as hard as I thought.I really need to find my weather seed but it seems so complicatedIt was so annoying last night as I logged on and the Northern lights were visible but I must have been too late as they only lasted 5 minutes
I had it open on my laptop with the game as well. Set it for the meteor shower that was announced. Then hit add time every minute a group of stars appeared. There are 5 to 8 a minute on a heavy shower. I didnt do seconds. It has a useful feature to add gaps automatically. Every so often I would hit check for seed and continued to record until I got one seed. Took me maybe 20 minutes.
After. That it gived you tumes for shooting stars I matched it to my game to make sure I had thr right seed.
Special weathet events help to. If you know the time and date of at least five northern lights, or rainbows for example.
There are picture referances for other type of weather if you are logging regular weather.

congrats! I love having the weather seed, especially when it comes to light showers and stuff so I can actually get some shooting stars. I think I did mine almost solely based on rain and clear weather, thank god I don't have to go through it all again

It's so satisfying finding your seed, and it makes life so much easier too. Like I've managed to avoid most of my snow days so my island doesn't become a jungle of flowers, but still get on for meteor showers etc. It took me a long time to get my first island's seed. but my 2nd island was dream to find
I found mine a couple of weeks ago and it’s such a useful thing to know, especially when it comes to finding times for light showers so I don’t miss any stars.
man I've had no luck with finding my weather seed at all, despite having plenty of screenshots of star times and weather patterns...I think I'm just inputting the information wrong, because it always says it just can't find anything. frustrating!

tried the screen shot thing my first shower, I had two back to back. Had the same problem.
Something I learned.
1) in a heavy shower their are 5 to 8 stars a minute. Count the stars sometimes one will appear at 7:59:59, not 8:00:00 which can cause a time imputed wrong. I also forget to hit screenshot or video leading to gaps.
2) imputting real time was easier. I had the app open on my laptop and set up so I could click add time as it happened on my switch.

Proud to say I finally found my weather seed today. All I needed were the dates and times of two of my auroras and info about two of my heavy meteor showers, one of which I took pics of last summer. I lucked out and had a heavy shower this week and spent about 20 minutes logging each minute that had meteors falling and which didn't. Time well spent!
